ccMixter is a great resource for dub heads worldwide. Allowing the use and re-use – edit – re-edit, mashup and remix to a community that wants it. “ccMixter is a community music site featuring remixes and audio samples licensed under Creative Commons. Tape Beatles Archive

The Tape Beatles & UBU Web and PhonoStatic have made a complete digital archive of their releases. The Tape Beatles ” are a collaboration of varying membership that make music and audio art recordings,”expanded cinema” performances, videos, printed publications, and works in other media. They work under the aegis of Public Works Productions. ” Ubu web also features an enormous and extensive MP3 Archive of sound poetry and other weird stuff.

dubcast#2 and roots future

Thanks to all the dubheads who’ve listened to the dubcast and the excellent feedback and submissions for the next dubcast from dubheads and producers worldwide. Due to a dub meltdown on one of dub.com studios hard drives (probably too much bass) the master of dubcast#2 was dubbed out into etherspace. We are rebuilding from scratch, vinyl, tape, 8-track, reel to reel, 45s, 10″s, 12″s and what ever dub magic we can muster…

UB40 who derive their name from the unemployment claim form issued in the UK come in for a lot of slack from reggae and dub heads who have probably never heard UB40 Present Arms in Dub. Granted the singers voice does grate on my nerves sometimes, though his honesty on “red red wine” always got him my vote, this CD/LP is a much neglected serious dub version. The album by the way is almost impossible to find via a google search because it only turns results for a lyrics search. Yes a lyric search results for a dub album. Thats dub pollution for you.
