Mungo’s Hi Fi | Jump in line / Send di water ft Mikey Murka [Record Store Day special]

It’s warming up for the summer Jump in the line – rock your body in time – this calypso classic was originally written by Lord Kitchener in the 1940s and later covered by Lord Invader, Lord Flea and Harry Belafonte. It has remained a favourite for a full 80 years, appearing in films such as Beetlejuice where Winona Rider wines out to it. This version comes out of it being an old time classic show stopper for Mungo’s Hi Fi from around 15 years ago, so much so that they rebuilt the track in their own style with a rare Mikey Murka carnival cut on the B side.

Riverside Rockers | Samadhi

Samadhi – the higher state dubs, visit another side of the Riverside Rockers, focusing on the production and favoring a more ambient, downtempo sound. “Strain” is an atmospheric, meditative vibe featuring drifting melodically lines. “Systems Destroyed” again features Japanese female vocalist Key MC and is reminiscent of early downtempo and trip hop vibes.
